The Ottawa Valley is comprised of an interesting mix of commercial enterprise, residential hamlets and historic events. The region is home to the birthplace of the National Hockey League, and the first commercial streetlights in Canada were lit in the City of Pembroke. The achievements of the region and its residents are often lost in the small town structure that exists in this Eastern Ontario County.
Most individuals in the region believe in giving back to help grow the community in which they live. Mr. Bradley was born and raised with that belief, and has since passed it on to his children. The family is very much involved with community events and initiatives which benefit the region as a whole.
Currently, Mr. Bradley is Chair of the Pembroke, Petawawa and District Community Foundation (www.givingthatgrows.com) which is a local charitable foundation to grow investable earnings for the community's greatest need. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Mr. Howe sat for many years on the Board of Directors for Mount Madawaska Limited., Co-operative Policing Killaloe and Area and the Madawaska Valley Association for Community Living.
