Matthew J. Bradley
Mr. Bradley graduated with an Honours B.A. from Queen’s University in 1985. He obtained a Civil Law Degree from Laval University in 1991 and Common Law Degree from the University of Ottawa in 1992. He was called to the bar in Ontario in 1994.
After completing his articling at Gowlings in Ottawa, he joined his father, Henry Bradley, Q.C., in 1994 in general practice. In September 2003, he merged with the law firm of Huckabone O’Brien Instance Bradley Lyle as a partner.
Mr. Bradley is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and treasurer of the Renfrew County Law Association. He is a member of the organizing committee for the County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA) Solicitor’s Conference. He has been a guest lecturer at the CCLA Civil Litigation Conference, CCLA Solicitors Conference and many educational programs for financial institutions, real estate offices, investment firms and the military. He has served on various charitable boards. He is presently the Chair of the Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation
With a specialization in corporate/commercial matters, residential and commercial real estate and wills, trusts and estates, Mr. Bradley offers legal services in English and French.
Robert B. Howe
Mr. Howe was called to the bar of Ontario in 1976. After articling and practicing briefly with Torys LLP in Toronto, Mr. Howe moved to Renfrew County and assumed a recently opened general practice in Barry’s Bay. He has been practicing for more than 40 years and for many of which, he was the only lawyer in Barry’s Bay.
Mr. Howe currently restricts his practice to solicitor’s work (real estate, land use planning and development, wills and estates, commercial and municipal work), but for many years his practice included criminal defence, civil litigation and family law, and he has appeared in courts at every level up to and including the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
Mr. Howe sat for many years on the Boards of Directors of Mount Madawaska Limited., Co-operative Policing Killaloe and Area, and the Madawaska Valley Association for Community Living.
Courtney Burnett
Ms. Burnett was called to the bar in 2019 after completing her clerkship with Howe & Bradley Law Firm. Ms. Burnett is a graduate of the University of Ottawa Faculty of Common Law and obtained her Juris Doctor in 2018. Her practice is focusing on real estate, wills and estates, municipal and corporate law.
Ms. Burnett is part of a seven-generation family with roots in the area. She was born and raised in Deep River and her passion for hockey took her to post-secondary studies in Lake Placid, New York followed by Burlington, Vermont. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Saint Michael’s College in Burlington in 2014.
Having spent summers with her family cottaging on Round Lake and the Ottawa River, Ms. Burnett looks forward to growing her career in the Ottawa Valley.
Gloria Audette
Senior Law Clerk
Gloria clerks in the Estates and Commercial Real Estate departments. She handles account administration (initial meetings, acting liaison between clients and solicitor, dealing with financial institutions, investment and accounting firms and document and court preparation.) Gloria has been appointed by the Province of Ontario as a Commissioner for Taking Affidavits. Gloria has worked in the legal field for nearly 30 years. She is married to Pat Audette and they have a son, Colby. Colby was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2011. Gloria and her husband organize an annual fundraiser called “Colby’s Crusade - Cure Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.”
Dorothy O'Gorman
Law Clerk
Dorothy was born and raised in Renfrew and has always made her home in the Ottawa Valley. She attended Canadore College in North Bay and earned her Legal Assistant diploma. Dorothy has been working in the field of law since 1995 and has been with the firm of Huckabone, O'Brien, Instance, Bradley, Lyle for 12 years. Apart from work, Dorothy coaches her son's fastball team in Douglas in the summer and is a proud hockey mom in the winter. Dorothy has been working exclusively for Matt Bradley since 2015.
